Netflix has made a habit out of launching holiday and festive movies when the season comes – now we know what movies we’ll be getting in 2020.
With the winter creeping in, it was about time we received a list of the new releases. Starting with late October and all the way through December, Netflix has plenty of holiday movies lined up, as Mashable shows. If you are in the mood for a romcom, you can check out “Holidate”. In case you crave some musical goodness, “Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey” will scratch that particular itch. And as cheesy as it might be, you don’t want to miss “The Princess Switch” sequel. For a meta-experience that will take you on a one-way trip down the memory lane, you can check out “The Holiday Movies That Made Us”.
The first holiday movie coming to Netflix is “Holidate”, starring none other than Emma Roberts. Sloane (played by Roberts) and Jackson ( played by Luke Bracey) hate the holidays. They are always the odd ones out, sitting at the kids table, being single. When they meet one particularly bad Christmas, they make a pact: they’re going to be each other’s “holidate” for all the holidays of the year, with no romantic or sexual interest. Will sparks eventually fly, despite their best intentions?
